Collage Inspiration "I am a Beautiful Monster" Francis Picabia

the artistKirtland Ash is an American visual artist known for contemporary works that explore abstract painting, collage and assemblage.

Born in Portland. Oregon and raised in Vancouver, British Colombia, he is largely self-taught and began his professional painting in the 1990s in Los Angeles.

His early work focused on abstract watercolor and large color-field paintings before evolving into collage, figurative art, and mix media.

His work often explores femininity and beauty standards, identity and consumer culture, emotional expression, spirituality and human connection.

He has spoken about being inspired by everyday observations, surreal juxtapositions, and cultural imagery from the 1970s and 1980s.

While living in London. he became involved in the Hackney Wick art scene and experimented heavily with found objects and collage after being influenced by the artist Kurt Schwitters.

His artwork has been collected by several notable private collectors, including Keanu Reeves.

He has exhibited in galleries in both in the US and the UK, specifically in London's contemporary scene.
